God's Promise To Deliver

It was so good to be reading a little 365 Devotional by Charles Stanley today. It's called "Every Day in His Presence".

What struck me today was the promise of God to deliver the Israelites from captivity after 70 years.

Jeremiah 32:42-43 (NIV)

⁴²  "This is what the LORD says: As I have brought all this great calamity on this people, so I will give them all the prosperity I have promised them. ⁴³  Once more fields will be bought in this land of which you say, 'It is a desolate waste, without men or animals, for it has been handed over to the Babylonians.'

I'd never thought before about how impossible this may have seemed to those who were going through the Exile and destruction of Jerusalem and Israel at the time. After all, everything they knew about their homeland had been destroyed and taken away from them.

However, God is always faithful to His promises. It doesn't matter how it might seem to us as we're going through trials or how impossible our situation might be, simply TRUST God and His promises to deliver you. He'll never leave you and when you are going through stuff, He's right there with you.

Prayer: Father God, help me to keep trusting You and all your promises. Help me to cling on to Your promise that You are with me always. Amen.
